"Never Exhale" ist der Sound einer Band, die keine Atempause einlegt. DITZ sind seit der Veröffentlichung ihres ersten Albums "The Great Regression" (2023) unermüdlich auf Tour. Die Songs ihres neuesten Angebots wurden in ganz Europa geschrieben, oft an freien Tagen und in geliehenen Proberäumen. Man könnte sagen, dass die Band das Aufnehmen und Veröffentlichen von Musik als nachträglichen Einfall betrachtet. Oft spielen sie Songs Jahre vor der Veröffentlichung live und optimieren sie dabei. Die Songs auf der endgültigen Platte können sich ändern, bevor sie jemals als Teil des Albums zu hören sind.

"Never Exhale" wurde grösstenteils in den Holy Mountain Studios in London während eines eiskalten Januars aufgenommen. Der Prozess war voller Hindernisse, da der ursprüngliche Plan, in Rhode Island aufzunehmen, durch das Angebot einer Support-Tour mit IDLES aufgegeben wurde, obwohl das Album immer noch vom ursprünglich vorgesehenen Toningenieur Seth Manchester (Model/Actriz, Lingua Ignota, Big Brave) gemischt wurde. Das Ergebnis ist ein Werk, das durch den Druck seiner eigenen Entstehung gehärtet wurde. Mühsam, aber nicht geliebt.

Die Themen der LP offenbaren sich beim wiederholten Anhören. Von der Erkundung dessen, wie es wäre, seinen Einfluss auf die Welt abzuwägen, dem heiligen Petrus, unnötigem Hass und Spaltung, Altern, der Trennung des Physischen von der Realität. Es ist politisch, aber letztendlich persönlich. Mehr Genet oder Kafka als Orwell oder Huxley. Soundtechnisch hat "Never Exhale" seine Wurzeln in den üblichen DITZ-Einflüssen, klassischem Noise-Rock wie The Jesus Lizard oder Shellac oder dem stumpfen Post-Punk von The Fall, bringt aber auch frische Einflüsse ein. Der letzte Track "Britney" könnte mit Radiohead oder Mogwai verglichen werden. Insgesamt ist das neue Album eine klare Weiterentwicklung ihres Debüts. Und ein Zeichen der Dinge, die kommen werden.

Auf "Cartoon Darkness" geht es um Krieg, die Klimakrise und künstliche Intelligenz, um Politik und das Gefühl, online eine Stimme zu haben, während wir am Ende doch einfach nur das Daten-Biest Big Tech speisen, unseren Gott der Gegenwart. Es geht darum, wie unsere Generation mit Informationen vollgestopft wird, wie wir wirken wie Erwachsene und dabei doch für immer Kinder bleiben, abgeschirmt wie in einem Kokon und dabei all die Ablenkungen verschlingend, die uns nicht einmal Wohlbefinden oder Freude bereiten, sondern einfach nur Taubheit. "Cartoon Darkness" rennt mit dem Kopf durch die Wand ins Unbekannte, in die heranziehende Ahnung einer Zukunft, ein kindliches Dunkel, das sich schrecklich anfühlt, aber noch gar nicht existiert - ein großer rauer Spaß.

"Still Smiling" is the first album of songs written in four hands by Teho Teardo and Blixa Bargeld; a work conceived and composed over two years, with dedication, working side by side, deciding and choosing every sound, every word, every silence together. The album, contains 12 songs: 10 previously unreleased, a new version of "A Quiet Life" and the cover "Alone with the moon" by Tiger Lillies. On the album, recorded between Rome and Berlin, in Teardo"s Rome studio and in Einstürzende Neubauten"s "Andere Baustelle" (the historic band of which Bargeld is leader), cellist Martina Bertoni and the Balanescu 4et collaborated. Teho and Blixa dialogue in symbiosis, Blixa"s deep and intense singing ranging from Italian to English and German, Teho"s music sublimating and enchanting between strings, electronics and experimentation. The maturation of ideas and intentions, in the numerous journeys between the two capitals, the desire, listening and meeting of their respective expressions, have left their mark. Still Smiling is a record that gives time, it is a privileged vision that covers all the sky between Rome and Berlin. The collaboration between the two artists began in 2009 for "Ingiuria", a performance by Raffaello Sanzio"s "Societas" that featured Alexander Balanescu on stage in addition to Bargeld and Teardo. In 2010, Bargeld and Teardo collaborated again to record A Quiet Life, the title track of the soundtrack of the film "A Quiet Life" with Toni Servillo. After these two experiences, a strong understanding and artistic affinity was born, which has led to the genesis of "Still Smiling".

Dummy is a rock band from Los Angeles comprised of Alex Ewell, Emma Maatman, Nathan O'Dell, and Joe Trainor. Their debut full-length "Mandatory Enjoyment" (Trouble in Mind) arrived in late 2021, becoming one of the year 's sleeper hits and garnering praise from Pitchfork, Stereogum, and more. Coming out of lockdown, the band spent two years touring in support of the record, and it is this transformational experience that pulses through "Free Energy ", the exhilarating follow-up to "Mandatory Enjoyment". A creatively restless band, Dummy (Ewell: drums, synths, bass; Maatman: vocals, synths, organ; O'Dell: vocals, guitar, organ; Trainor: guitar, bass, synths) wanted to get harder, dancier, more psychedelic for their next record. This meant applying explorative potentials of electronic textures to the elemental qualities of rock i.e. more vocal loops, sampling, more crazy rhythms, and playful synths - but make those samples of Trainor 's guitar, let Maatman sing bolder, experiment with using cold mechanical elements in warm and sparkly ways, and lean harder into traditional-yet-still-awesome forms of rock guitar experimentation like feedbackThe result is a record that celebrates music's ability to move the body, whether that be through a teeth-rattling wall of MBV-esque noise, a sticky pop chorus, or a joyous drum machine_or, if you're Dummy, maybe all of them in the same song. Pop music has always been a big part of Dummy's sound and it manifests in different ways all over Free Energy: the bubbly synth sequence made with a Korg EM1 popping all over "Nullspace," the revved-up drone-pop inspired by second and third wave Dunedin Sound bands like Look Blue Go Purple and Dadamah, and the motorik beat powering "Nine Clean Nails," perhaps the most confidently pop song Dummy has ever recorded and one that exemplifies "Free Energy "'s balancing of live performance intensity with electronic augmentations, the dancier rhythmic elements created out of a drum loop recorded by Ewell while the bridge recalls the Feelies with call-and-response guitars from O'Dell and expressive vocals from Maatman. "Free Energy " also features guest appearances from Oakland-based saxophonist and electroacoustic artist Cole Pulice (Moon Glyph) contributes saxophone and wind synths and Jen Powers of Powers / Rolin Duo (Astral Editions, Feeding Tube Records).

Moin is made of Joe Andrews and Tom Halstead (Raime / Blackest Ever Black) as well as long time collaborator and percussionist visionary Valentina Magaletti (Tomaga / Vanishing Twin). A serendipitous conversation brought the project to life. The band say simply: “The record was made as an experiment really, it felt like the right time to play on the fringes of this kind of music. The priority was to be direct at first and then change the edges perhaps. Make something to experience rather than something as a spectacle.”

Moot! a quick and painless album to create, allowed the musicians to re-appreciate the recording process, using a combination of live recording and studio techniques. As Andrews, Halstead and Magaletti come together as Moin, they’re freed from any past inhibitions or self-made parameters to explore uncharted territory. The album spans psychedelia, alternative rock and post-punk mixed with their signature electronics and sampling practice.

The band conclude: “All of this sounds very matter of fact, which is correct. It’s immediate music that isn’t pretending to be anything but.”

London based songwriter Louis Gardner offers his first mixtape, released via Goldsmiths University imprint NX Records. On For The Open Room, Gardner spirals artfully through outsider jazz, pop, folk and noise, landing sprawled in a territory all his own.

Tangled riffs and strange structures form the terrain for intimate, un-rugged vocals to float above. Starting life like brisk journal entries or misshapen doodles in digital fuzz, Gardner's stories bloom with stop-start tension, oscillating between tender and guttural, crude and complex.

For the open room captures a flow state of ideas, traces and associations - from the bubbling jazz congruence of "It's Hard", to plucked maximalist fragility on "Ten Zithers". Wrapping up with "Body Left in the Snow", Louis reveals mightily undulating piano chops - leaving us to wonder what else is withheld, and what might appear next.

1974 erscheint Georg Danzers Konzeptalbum "Der Tätowierer und die Mondprinzessin", begleitet von einem Buch mit Texten und Illustrationen von Georg Danzer. Die zehn darauf enthaltenen tiefsinnigen Lieder, die unter anderem unter der Mitwirkung von Willi Resetarits und seinen "Schmetterlingen" sowie Robert Ponger, Christian Kolonovits und "Supermax" Kurt Hauenstein entstanden, haben bis heute Relevanz. Georg Danzers Manager und guter Freund, Franz Christian "Blacky" Schwarz, initiierte und leitete die Wiederveröffentlichung dieses künstlerischen Schatzes.Für die Neuauflage wurden die Original-Mischbänder aus dem Jahr 1974 verwendet und von Othmar Eichinger von TON Eichinger, Wien aufwändig restauriert, digitalisiert und gemastert. Die Reihenfolge der Lieder stimmt nicht mit der Original-LP überein, sondern wurde dem Ablauf der Geschichte angepasst. Die Liedtexte wurden auf die tatsächlich gesungenen Versionen umgeschrieben. Die Geschichte selbst ist die Originalversion. Franz Christian Schwarz über die Entstehung des Albums:Es war 1974, es war Februar und es war kalt. In Peter Müllers Tonstudio herrschte reger Betrieb. Georg Danzer saß auf einem Sessel und klimperte auf der Gitarre und sang leise den Text dazu. Vor sich auf einem schon in die Jahre gekommen Tisch lagen einige mit Maschine beschriebene Blätter. Ab und zu hielt er beim Spielen inne und korrigierte den zur Melodie passenden Text. Zwischendurch machte er auch kleine Zeichnungen mit Wachskreide, die das gleichnamige Buch illustrieren sollten. Nach und nach waren die Musiker wie vereinbart mit ihren Instrumenten gekommen. Es herrschte eine fast familiäre Stimmung. Es wurde Kaffee getrunken, geplaudert, gescherzt und gelacht. Peter mahnte zu Disziplin und wies den Herren - denn die Schmetterlinge, der Chor mit Dame, waren erst für den nächsten Tag eingeplant - ihre Plätze zu. Das Klavier hatte seinen fixen Platz und rundherum wurde nun postiert. Peter hatte einen genauen Plan, wer wo stehen sollte und aus tontechnischen Gründen auch musste. Das Schlagzeug kam in ein abgeschirmtes Kammerl mit einem Glasfenster, der Bass mit Verstärker kam nach links hinten, gegenüber wurde das Gitarren-Set ebenfalls mit Verstärker aufgebaut. Die Orgel musste auch noch Platz finden und die Percussion wurde hinter einem halbhohen Paravent platziert, damit der Musiker Sichtkontakt mit den Kollegen und dem Tontechniker halten konnte. Jetzt noch Mikrofone aufstellen, verkabeln, justieren und dann Tonproben. Nun war alles bereit. So in etwa hat Georg gerne vom ersten Studiotag zu den Aufnahmen für die nun in einer Spezialversion zum 50 Jahre-Jubiläum vorliegenden Vinyl-Schallplatte erzählt. In The Human Fear geht es um das Menschsein und die Ängste, die uns dazu machen, aber man hätte es auch kühn nennen können. Kühn auf eine Art, wie wir es gerne sind. Es ist ihr sechstes Album, das sie mit dem Produzenten Mark Ralph hauptsächlich in Schottland aufgenommen haben, mit ein paar Overdubs in London und Paris. Bob Hardy und Alex Kapranos gründeten die Band 2002, Julian Corrie und Dino Bardot kamen 2016 dazu und Audrey Tait 2021. Dies ist die erste vollständige LP mit Dino und Audrey, obwohl sie auf den letzten Singles mitgewirkt haben und mit der Band ausgiebig getourt sind. Unsere Ängste definieren unsere Menschlichkeit. Wir finden unseren Charakter und unsere Persönlichkeit, wenn wir unsere Reaktion auf sie verstehen. Was sie auslöst. Das Album beginnt mit dem Track "Audacious" der als Vorabsingle den Ton für das Album angibt. Die zweite Single, die im November erscheinen wird, ist "Night Or Da"y, die sowohl in den Texten als auch in der Musik die Spannung zwischen Angst und Spaß darstellt. Das klangvolle Synthie-Stück "Hooked" zeigt eine andere Seite des Albums und wird unser Fokus-Track bei der Veröffentlichung sein. Das Album wird Mitte September zusammen mit einer Reihe von Live-Terminen in Großbritannien und Europa angekündigt und am 10. Januar 2025 veröffentlicht. Die Band wird außerdem im Oktober und November für Live-Shows nach Mexiko und Südamerika reisen.

*On ‘Snowfire’, innovative Norwegian pianist Bugge Wesseltoft brings a euro/nu-jazz feel to the album, while Dennis 'Funkybone' Rollins adds his trademark virtuoso trombone to the carnival-flavoured ‘Ricochet’.

*There’s an energy, respect for tradition and the exuberance of London in Hackney Colliery Band’s work, best exemplified in the evocative and downright thrilling James Taylor collaboration ‘Hypothetical’, with Taylor’s Hammond organ recalling the Acid Jazz era in which he made his name.
*New single ‘Netsanet’ (feat. Mulatu Astatke) is a deep exploration of Mulatu's trademark Ethio-jazz, while ‘Crushing Lactic’, composed by Tom Rogerson (fresh from a recent collaboration with Brian Eno) has a frenzied flow, with big horns and driving rhythm section.

*Elsewhere, Pete Wareham (stalwart of the London jazz revival) lends his free-flowing sax to ‘What’s Gone Before’, leading us into a powerful communion of jazz and brass as Mulatu Astatke’s ‘Derashe’ takes the listener down a vibrating rhythmic path while accompanied by blasts of horns and Mulatu’s trademark vibraphone.

*Two spoken word compositions (‘Why Yellow’ and ‘Climbing Up My Own Life Until I Die’) featuring York born writer and comedian Rob Auton lend an introspective voice to ‘Collaborations: Volume One’.

*A band never content to rest on its laurels, Hackney Colliery Band already have a number of collaborations in the works for ‘Volume Two’, and with further live shows planned for 2019, including the album launch at the famous Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, 2019 looks set to be HCB’s biggest year yet, both live and on record.

* Steve Pretty, the band’s frontman said: “It’s hard to believe that 2019 is our tenth anniversary, but now we’re ten years older it felt like the right time to get back to our jazz roots. An obscure bit of Brazilian folk rock from the early 70s - recorded with an easygoing, laidback style that's really wonderful! The group's working mostly here in a blend of acoustic guitar and percussion  and some of the guitar work is done by Jorge Amiden of O Terco, using a strange three-necked guitar that looks mighty weird in the picture! This instrument seems to be played using a bow at times - creating a "guitar strings" sort of feel that gives the record a bit more class than you might expect from its relatively rootsy setting  and there's also some great subtle production on the vocals that compresses them slightly, in a way that links the record to some of the other South American rock of the time. Titles include "O Jogo", "Tributo Ao Sorriso", "Blusa Le Linho", "Voce Pole Ir Alem", "Do Zepo Adiante", "Transe Uma", "Cara Ou Coroa", and "Venha Pisar Na Grama".

Music From Memory is thrilled to introduce Dead Sound, the collaborative project of Marco Sterk (aka Young Marco) and Berlin-based pop-auteur John Moods. Both artists are no strangers to the label; Sterk forms one third of the trio Gaussian Curve, while Moods released the 2022 album ‘Hidden Gem’ with The Zenmenn.

Their collaboration was both planned and spontaneous; Sterk initially reached out in 2022 expressing his desire to work with Moods. The pair finally got together in 2024 to produce ‘Into The Void’, an album that burst into life over the course of a few creatively charged days in each other’s company.

Moods’ dream-like, emotionally charged music wears its heart on its sleeve; its very human vulnerability makes it a perfect match for Sterk’s strong sense of melody and textural sonic visions.

‘Into The Void’ carries these psychedelic traits in its DNA, but they exist layered deep amongst the shadows. Painting on a wide canvas that effortlessly skips between genres, the pair weave anything that inspires them into a truly unique tapestry; a bold attempt to touch at the beyond.

Exploring the space between perception (level of the mind) and the nature of the universe (actual level of reality) seems traditionally like an impossible task. But there’s gotta be a time and a space for the profound and this album invites the listener to go deep, letting go of concepts such as love and opening oneself up to one’s own authentic journey. This transformative force of healing is a central theme of ‘Into The Void’, a path that is lined with light and darkness in equal measure. But, as Moods says, “do not skip the darkness, let that door open and swallow you. And maybe you’ll find, it's not as dark as you perceived at first."

Elias Rønnenfelt is a musician and poet best known as the lead singer and lyricist of Iceage. Heavy Glory is his debut solo album. Out October 25th via Escho. Heavy Glory was recorded in Copenhagen in chapters and moments over the course of a year. Collaborators include Iceage's Dan Kjær Nielsen, Danish punk godfather Peter Peter, and singers Joanne Robertson (Elias and Joanne have collaborated before, on a number of recent Dean Blunt releases) and Fauzia. "I've done this so many times," Rønnenfelt explains, speaking of the process of crafting a long player, "but capturing and crystallising an album remains a singular ritual, just with different circumstances. We are capturing something that is hard to hold down." Heavy Glory is a record that examines all the things that lovers do, from the most desperate to the most pure. The lover haunts the record, reappearing and provoking Rønnenfelt, pulling him in and pushing him away. Songs like "Close" describe the line between jealousy and protectiveness. "Unarmed" is a song of surrender. "River of Madeleine" harnesses toughness in the name of preservation, staying up all night to protect his lover's dreams. "Stalker" is an epic third-person story song in the tradition of the murder ballad. The record closes with two covers. The first, Spacemen 3's "Sound of Confusion," is a mission statement of the life Rønnenfelt has found and inherited in music. "Here it comes," the song famously promises, and flares out into noise. It is a joyful noise, because this life, in all its grit, is the life he chose. The second, Townes Van Zandt's "No Place to Fall," is a sweet plea, Rønnenfelt's final invitation to join him on his journey. This journey - this story, this record - will repeat and continue. It never stops. Rønnenfelt's life as an artist results in a sound that wobbles and rocks but never loses its centre, both fragile and tough, and always moving forward. It is dreamy yet bombastic, held together by the passion of certainty. Co-produced by Rønnenfelt and Nis Bysted.

The iconic fifth album Houdini by the Melvins captures the band's power, vision, and musical strangeness. It's an essential '90s release, combining elements of grunge with hard rock and sludge metal. Their biggest commercially success and first major label release is an album where they displaying the full width of their musical abilities. Buzz Osbourne's guitar sound is deep and heavy and combined with Dale Crover's powerful drum rolls and fills it sounds really impressive. Kurt Cobain (Nirvana) added his guitar skills to the track 'Sky Pup' and can be heard as a percussionist on 'Spread Eagle Beagle'. It's one of the most accessible Melvins albums and the gateway to explore more records by the band. Houdini is the ultimate Melvins classic and a must have for every grunge and music fan in general.

Described as wielding “damp and sticky instruments”, being “rotten from the inside” and sonically “stinking drunk, shirtless with no shoes, crawling around in your head”, LOUSE gleefully pummel one riff into oblivion, deranged howls & punishing buzzsaw guitars growl over driving disco beats and slide bass. Creep Call – LOUSE’s debut LP, after various tapes, live recordings and a split 10” lathe cut with The Shits – is a true statement of intent. Presented by the magnificent Riot Season, the record is the result of a (wasted) life’s work honing and toning the platonic ideal of single-riff noise rock, all wrapped up in a grindhouse, Giallo-flick package.

Briefly elevated from the basement, Creep Call was recorded with James Atkinson at The Station House Studio in 2023 and mastered by S. Bishop, so the carnage has never sounded better. Perfectly balanced ugliness drenched in feedback, pumped up with Stooges keys and sax (honk honk) - the closest thing to experiencing the deafening, goofy, beer-soaked-undergarment chaos of a LOUSE show first hand.

Creep Call features wholesome ruminations on perpetual home invasion, road-side pornography addiction, perfecting a cannibalistic diet, and an unmistakable cowboy/line-dancing anthem. Do the wrong thing, and answer the call.

After the Spanish escapade 'Teatro Lucido' and the sweet journey 'Paris Hawai', the group created by Marlon Magnée and Sacha Got continues their world tour with 'Rock Machine,' their first album entirely written in English. Composed over the past few years during various tours around the world, this new LP has been strongly inspired by the succession of dates in the USA, Canada, South America, Australia, and the encounters that ensued. The band returns to its New Wave and Synthwave roots from their acclaimed first LP 'Psycho Tropical Berlin' (Machine), which they mix with an Anglo-Saxon rock sound from the 80s/90s (Rock). This album is an ode to rock'n'roll, its effectiveness, and timelessness, but also an ode to love and despair. Becerra öffentlich gelobt wurde, erschien im Jahr 2006 und
wurde damals digital und nur in einer kleinen CD-Auflage
veröffentlicht. Eine Wiederveröffentlichung (CD only) auf
Golden Core erfolgte im Herbst 2024. Die politischen und
gesellschaftskritischen Texte sind typisch für das Genre, aber
selbstredend wird auch der Fun großgeschrieben. Das hört
man dem energetischen Debüt „Possessed In The Circle Pit“
auch durchgehend an. Die Spielfreude und die Energie sind
einfach ansteckend, auch auf Tonträger.
Seit 2010 gab es dieses 2008er Debüt nicht mehr auf Vinyl.
Der Zeitpunkt ist perfekt, denn die Band ist seit einigen
Monaten wieder aktiv und möchte nun auch endlich in Europa
fußfassen. Dabei hilft nun die Neuauflage der LP, erstmals
adäquat für Vinyl gemastert und im Gatefold, sowie die
kürzlich ebenso bei Golden Core erschienene EP von 2006

The psychedelic scene that never was – the perfect subtitle to this compilation. There were barely any drugs in Hungary to begin with. In this era, alcohol, music, and imagination have served as the primary means of mind alteration among the youth. The Communist party had a firm grip on culture through monopole control over venues, the media, and the recording industry, western records were not available, clubs enforced a strict dress code of suits, shirts, and longer skirts, and the police harassed young men for not more than having long hair or wearing blue jeans.



There was, however, an undercurrent of smaller semi-professional bands striving to succeed in the shadow of the very few stars privileged by the sole state owned record company. Given their chances to release music were at best limited to a few 7“ singles at the mercy of said record company powers. Psyched Out Grooves from Hungary compiles ten of the most outstanding singles recorded by the underdogs of this period. Some of the bands featured on here have eventually reached wider success by switching to more commercial styles, like Bergendy, Neoton, and Apostol. Most, like Echo, Meteor, Kék Csillag, Non-Stop, were temporal formations that dissolved after a few years due to personal conflicts, lack of success, or both. Others, like Scampolo or Juventus, lasted a longer time without an actual break through. Most of these bands never had a consistent, lasting ’psychedelic’ repertoire or identity at any point. These tracks were the exception, not the norm. That coherence - the illusion of a scene - comes from the curation and sequencing of Budabeats head honchos Von Yodi and Gandharva. It is the arrangement of these puzzle pieces that makes them fit together.

Auf seinem neuen Album "Golden Age" bewegt sich der aus Brooklyn stammende, in New Orleans lebende Gitarrist und Grammy-nominierte Produzent Gitkin zwischen Surf, Psychedelia und Worldbeat-Einflüssen aus Lateinamerika, Nordafrika und Nahost. Gitkin ist Frontmann der Soulband The Pimps of Joytime aus New Orleans, seine Produktionscredits reichen von Corey Henry & The Treme Funktet über Bernard Purdy bis zu Cyril Neville und Cedric Burnside, für dessen Album "Benton County Relic" er bei den 61. Grammy Awards mit einer Nominierung für das "Beste Traditionelle Bluesalbum" geehrt wurde.

Brain Thrust Mastery, the second album by Californian art rockers We Are Scientists was originally released on Virgin Records in March 2008, its heady brew of retro futurism, indie and sparkling shiny power pop make it sound thoroughly contemporary - Working in conjunction with the band, this 2LP version of the album adds B-sides and tracks recorded live at London's Union Chapel and is pressed onto high-quality 180g vinyl. Named after founder members Keith Murray and Chris Cain's dress sense led a truck rental supervisor to surmise that they had to be academics, We Are Scientists were formed in Berkeley, California around the turn of the century. Their first 'proper' album, 2005's With Love And Squalor, became an underground hit as the band toured Britain, where they gained a substantial fanbase before the album was released in America the following year. Material for Brain Thrust Mastery was debuted on an early 2007 UK tour, before the band returned to the studio with producer Ariel Rechtshaid (who would go on to win Grammys with Vampire Weekend). We Are Scientists maintain a strong sense of theatre and comedy in their live performance - at this time, the group acted as their own support, offering seminars in self improvement called 'Brain Thrust Mastery'. The album is full of well-written pop songs, rich in hooks and melody. Lead single After Hours reached No 15 in March 2008, and after the release of the album the same month, it was followed by further hit singles Chick Lit and Impatience. A summer of touring, including performances at Glastonbury, T In The Park and Reading and Leeds underlined the group's popularity.

Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls is the debut studio album by American horror punk supergroup Murderdolls. It was released in 2002. The album reached number 40 on the UK Albums Chart, and sold over 100,000 copies in the U.S.

Murderdolls are a side project for Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison and Static-X guitarist Tripp Eisen.

The music on the album is fast and macabre, stuck in a time warp that hurtles them backwards to the decayed sounds of the '80s. Call it gutter-punk, glam rock, or hair metal, every style is displayed here in its despondent glory, bearing close comparisons to shock-punkers the Misfits. The Murderdolls draw inspiration from movies such as Friday the 13th, Night of the Living Dead, and Phantasm. The 15 tracks found here are full of tongue-in-cheek horror clichés.

Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls is now available on black vinyl and contains a 6 panel insert.

Inhaler is the third studio album by American rock band TAD, originally released on October 19, 1993. It was the band's major label debut after two albums and an EP released by Sub Pop, and it was also their first album with drummer Josh Sinder, formerly of The Accüsed. Producer J. Mascis (Dinosaur Jr.) gave TAD a more focused and driven sound on this record. He can be heard playing the piano on ""Luminol"". The song ""Grease Box"" was played during the end credits of the 1994 movie Brainscan. Inhaler is easily their best and most consistent album to date and obtained positive critical reception upon release. Fortunately, the group has lost none of the grit that marked them as the grungiest of the Seattle scene. In promotion of Inhaler, TAD toured with Soundgarden. Inhaler is available on black vinyl and includes an insert.
